When the Owner’s of this contemporary home located near Lake Sammamish approached RRD, they were using about 50% of the existing 1,500 square foot main floor. The existing house was broken up in a way that made circulation between rooms seem unnatural and laborious. By removing a few key walls, reorganizing the spaces, and updating all of the finishes, including new quarter-sawn oak flooring throughout, the house was transformed into a comfortable, modern space for living and gathering. As avid chefs and entertainers, the owners wanted a kitchen that was functional for both cooking and hosting. The use of Caesarstone countertops, glass tile and rift-sawn oak built-ins help give this 1,500 square foot great room a progressive aesthetic.
